Outdoor Champagne Soirée - A Simple & Elegant Birthday Party . . .

What do you do when you are about to celebrate a milestone birthday; 30, 40, 50, or beyond and you just aren't feeling that excited about it?  Well, turn it into a simple & elegant evening filled with good food, great friends, and delicious champagne and you'll be so giddy from all of the brilliant banter & bubbly that you won't even be thinking about your milestone birthday . . .

The inspiration for this party was the label on the bottle of the birthday girl's favorite champagne,  a yummy blend of rich pear, honeysuckle, & exotic passion fruit bubbly from Francis Ford Coppola's Winery on the Central Coast of California . . .

Labels, invitations,  & party circles are from Juneberry Lane's exclusive 'Champagne' line, soon to be available in our Etsy shop and debuting in its entirety later this week . . .

Best yet, the decorations for this party came to a whopping $25.  Thrifty party decor on a budget happens to be my very favorite kind . . .

The first course is served . .  .

I think my favorite element of this little shindig is the fact that this gorgeous fondant cake with lovely hand drawn swirls was made by the birthday girl's husband.  Yes, that's right, her husband did all of the work on this and it is his very first EVER attempt using fondant.  Doesn't that just melt your heart?

Tissue poms & paper flowers spruced up the back yard and definitely kept us on par with our budget.  If you take a good look at the pom garland overhead, you'll be surprised to know it is made from natural coffee filters.  And if you check back tomorrow we'll show you exactly how to make a few strings of your very own . . .

And burlap table runners stenciled in white damask kept the theme both rustic & elegant . . .

That's all.  Tasteful, uncomplicated, stylish, & affordable.  A real piece of homemade cake . . .
